We are always envious of Beachradish's skill! But I think we should develop our own styles which are influenced but not copied! The water is lovely here!
I think this is great -- and, like you, I keep honing my own style by 'trying on' various ones that have inspired me on 365. I'd love to know more about how you did this to get the exposure and the feeling of fluidity or movement. Mine always end up looking like I just used the wrong settings!
I like the wake behind the women, the color of their swimsuits, and the hint of their reflections. Playing with blur can definitely be fun - not sure if you're on Flickr, but there are whole groups dedicated to the "technique", many of whom are phenomenal. Here is one of my favorites: http://www.flickr.com/photos/41418914@N03
@taffy I snapped the shot out of focus on purpose. I shot from the hip in the mode that doesn't force me to have it focused. I can't think of the name of it. The composition was just a fluke. I increased the exposure and desaturated it a bit. They were walking toward me at the time and stirring up the water. I'm glad you liked it.
