Only in Canada... by kwind

Only in Canada...

I'm not sure if this is unique to Canada or maybe just my city but the kids raced belt sanders today at the Canada Day festivities downtown. The sanders were decorated and there was a LONG chute they raced from end to end. I'm really not sure how it all worked but they moved FAST! The boys basically flipped switched and they were off. It was all over in about 5 seconds.

***update: google "belt sander races" images and you'll see it's quite popular and in the US too.

Here's another shot from today: http://365project.org/kwind/365/2014-07-01

I bet those boys loved that! I know my son would. We've never seen belt sander races before.... Love all the red and yellow in this pic. Great color!

Sounds like a fun things for kids. I vaguely remember hearing of this on one of those fillers for the nightly news awhile ago, but I don't remember where they were doing it.

What a great idea for your tree loving country....showed Harry , he was fascinated! Must ask at the Westmorland Show if they have ever heard of that... Lots of tree cutters there.
