Another view of where I live in the Stroud Valleys on the edge of the Cotswold Hills in the UK.
This is taken above the Nailworth valley and looking down on the village of Woodchester. As you can see the church dominates the area and the village has many old cotswold stone houses.
Just off the picture to the right is where the famouse Woodchester Roman Villa where a fantastic mosaic was discovered under a churchyard. It has always been covered up for preservation but I was fortunately able to see it when it was last uncovered for the public in the 70's, suggest Google the Woodchester Roman Villa.
Best viewed with the magnify button above the pic.
this is just gorgeous... googled and I envy you seeing that mosaic....I was fortunate enough to see the Pompeii Exhibition at the British Museum last march so can really appreciate the beauty of yours...
What a beautiful view, Heather. I did goggle Woodchester Roman Villa and you, indeed, were fortunate to see it when it was uncovered. From what I just read, there are no plans to uncover it again.
Fav. It does look even better with the magnify button. A great capture. Could you resend the fav you gave me yesterday as it did not register. Many thanks.
