Laurie Lee's View. by ladymagpie

Laurie Lee's View.

I must admit I took this a while ago, but this is the view that famous author Laurie Lee (Cider with Rosie) would have had from Swifts Hill just above his house.

It's a great view across his Slad Valley where he lived, over the town of Stroud and on over the River Severn. I must admit that this was one of the hardest climbs I have undertaken this year, but the view was ell worth the effort.

You can just make out The Black Mountains in Wales.

Beautiful landscape, Beautifully captured. 'Cider with Rosie' takes me back, one of the books on our exam reading list many, many, many, years ago).

It is a glorious view - lovely countryside round Stroud. I used to visit Stonehouse on business and often took the scenic route back to avoid the motorway.

This is a lovely capture magnificent view across the Severn. Fav
