Doulton Lambeth Barrelette. by ladymagpie

Doulton Lambeth Barrelette.

As some of you may be aware I love my antique ceramics, if not teapots then other interesting bits and pieces. It's been a very busy day on the internet today so it has to be an indoor picture today.

This is from the famous pottery of Doulton Lambeth and is known as a Barrelette and has an interesting home made bamboo tap. It held whisky and sat on the bar in it's brass frame, dating from about 1880 to 1900. Unfortunately it hasn't any whisky in it today.

This looks interesting - how big is it and more importantly how much whisky does it hold?

@virtualbrownie Thanks for viewing, the barrel is approx 9" long x 7" Dia and would hold about 3 litres, It sits on my kitchen work surface.

@philcameron59 Thanks Phil for commenting. I was lucky to pick it up but I don't think it's that valuable.

@lynnilou Than you Lyn, my favourite programme as well. My front room looks like an antique shop, or TAT as my youngest Son calls it. Does he not know it's his inheritance,
