A look around the Village No. 9

This must have been an imposing house when it was first built in the mid 1800's. Double front bay windows that had sash windows right through, built of red brick and a slated roof.

There used to be a nice low walled garden at the front and I can remember the family running a village shop here. You could go into each front room and they sold everything from a pint of milk to a coat hook. Now a private house again.

A lovely solid looking dwelling,a shame, like so many, there's no longer a front garden to set it off.

@carolmw Thank you Carol and you so right, it's not that they need front parking as they have a drive around the side.

Simple and elegant! Love the fact that it was a shop on the ground floor at one time. Nice capture, Heather.

@congaree @philcameron59 Thank you both, I loved the old couple that ran the shop from their lounge and dinning room.

Still looks a fine building - I can imagine the goods being displayed in those bay windows
