It's been a horrible wet day today, so I have found one from a few days ago.
An avenue of spruce trees leads up to the imposing church of St. James the Great in Saul, Gloucestershire. It was first recorded and built in 1140 by some monks and increased in size in the late 1700's.
It is near the River Severn and the Sharpness Canal and the village had grown through families of bargemen and Trow sailors. (Trows were a specific type of barges seen on the Severn).
