Cheap, Cheep Feeder. by ladymagpie

Cheap, Cheep Feeder.

I'm renowned for being very thrifty, well why spend a £1 when 50p will do. I wanted to feed the birds like my Sister did, but not having a back garden I decided to try the front even though the village road was close by.

I chose a fence post just inches from my lounge window and set up an old plastic food container using 2 drawing pins through the bottom. Filling the bottom with bird seed I waited for days, nothing other than a flooded container.

Modification No. 1 was holes in the corners to drain out any rain water, still nothing for days. Modification No. 2 was I cut out the front section and suddenly this house sparrow comes back and forth all day long from the eaves of the cottage opposite.

I might be a cheapskate, but at least I now can watch the birds from only a few feet away. Yes a very CHEAP CHEEP.

Birds will not turn up their beaks at the method of delivery. All they care about is the delivery. :) I like the story your photo tells.
