That is another interesting saying that was used quite a bit when I was younger. Meaning, don't wait to get things done, get and do it straight away.
Now I don't rally know whether this plant I've found on the edge of my neighbours pond is a grass or a flower but at least thanks to my knowledgeable friend I've found out is called Carex Appressa. Whatever it is classed as, I did think it looked pretty.
