A Look around the Village No. 12

For several weeks I've been trying to capture this building without the modern cars in view, I finally gave up so please accept my apology. This must be one of the oldest buildings in the village dating from the 16th century, about 1570 and is from the Tudor period.

When I moved to the village 30+ years ago it was a village shop known as "Tudor Stores" but has since reverted back to private dwellings. Look closely at the center of the ground floor and you will see what are newer wooden uprights, this is where someone in the past had put the shop front window, glad it's been restored.
Beautiful old building. I love the B&W buildings from that period.

Our house used to be a shop and we recently found the door in the wall but it isn't as old as this. I like old buildings and this is a lovely capture.

Fantastic capture of a beautiful old building! Pity the cars weren't horse and carriages :)

Love the Tudor style. If I recall it was a short lived architectural style with not many around.

Oh wow, what an age - so not mock Tudor then! I bet it looked the business with a thatched roof back in the day too
