Changing faces of Home

I've lived in my home for about 30 years and over that period I have had to replace a 6ft wooden interwoven fence that separates my home to next door 3 or 4 times, due to strong winds destroying them. The door on the right is my neighbours.

If you look at the left picture you can see the remains of the 2 end posts that divided me from next door. I decided that I would have a new wall built matching my front surrounding wall and also called back the company that made my original railings to match it with another section.

At the same time my neighbours had their pavement replaced. Think it looks great now it's finished but nobody is getting any Christmas presents this year due to the expense. Interesting the different shades of the picture from Summer to Winter. View with the dark surround it's less confusing.

Thanks for all your comments, I do take interest in all of them
The new railings open up the area, if I were the neighbor, I would have paid half to replace the wooded fence, just to make my walkway not feel so enclosed.

@byrdlip A solid 6ft high fence was more enclosed and also stopped them looking out of there window.

It looks very smart and I like the new wall and railings very much, and the new path of slabs and shingle. Sorry about the expense. But worth it!
