Just a few days before Christmas and we have weather that is not right for this time of the year. I went out for some shopping, bad idea going by the crowds, and it was a howling gale and driving rain, but very mild. Is this the sign of global warming.
This local inn and restaurant had the Christmas trees by the front door but there didn't seem to be much Christmas cheer sounding from what is a usually busy place and popular location. It has a very long history, being an old coaching house from the 1500's. I think the weather and daytime darkness had kept people at home.
I got home drenched and as I was so wet I decided to walk around the village and hand deliver my friends Christmas cards before coming home to dry out. Would you believe it, as I was putting the shopping away the sun came out and it was lovely and bright again.
Thanks for all your comments and FAV on my view of Smallpox Hill.
I can see the lights on & trees lit but I agree it doesn't look busy. The weather does put you off going out, the rain is so heavy & floods all over the place. Hopefully this place will be buzzing on Christmas Eve!
