Victorian Hand Painted plates. by ladymagpie

Victorian Hand Painted plates.

It's yet again another WWW day, Wet, Wild and Windy. When I opened the curtains this morning it was bucketing it down and it hasn't stopped all day. So I've gone with a still life capture.

These are in my pottery collection and are hand-painted terracotta large plates dating from about 1880-90. The artists are fantastic and the flowers look so realistic. Both plates are about 10" in diameter and very heavy, they are only for decoration and have holes drilled through the back rim to have wire or cord to hang them up. Hope you like them.

They are real treasures! I love that design. I inherited some similar with that wire on the back but I don't like the pattern at all.
