No Trains Today

The platform is empty, no passengers sit on the benches and the trains have long gone, but it's still a lovely spot to stop for cyclists and walkers.

The station opened in 1867 on a short 5 3/4 mile route (a cycle track today). That wall is 132 years old and I have running battles with the local council when someone uses it for illegal banner advertising, On the left of this picture today is a large modern roundabout and the main road in and out of the area.

The last passenger train ran on the 8th June 1949 but the line was still in use for goods trains until 1966, such a shame as it would be beautiful to see the steam trains still running up the valleys.

I would be very CHUFFED if you could view this with the dark surround.
We have vintage trains that run in the coastal areas!

As happening so often nowadays, these old train tracks are turned into cycle trails. Got to be good though, all levelled and flat to ride safely on! Wonderful old wall there!
