With all this news about Harry and Megan's interview by Oprah Winfrey, let's think all about our Royal Family and the upheaval it might be causing to our Queen.
I admit to being a royalist, and love our royal family, yet I also feel for what Harry and in particular Megan have gone through, let's hope it is soon resolved and they all live happily ever after, sounds like a fairy tale.
My picture is of course a souvenir from the Queens coronation in 1953, a cast iron moneybox as a replica of the throne. I still remember the black and white television pictures of the Queen's Royal Carriage travelling up the Mall towards Buckingham Palace. I was only 5 at the time and had terrible nightmare that night of carriages with square wheels, and had to be comforted by my Mum.
The only throne in my house today, other than this moneybox, is a very uncomfortable one in the little room, unfortunately I spend to much time these days sitting on my throne without all the benefits of being the queen. Although how does Queen Heather sound.
I too am a royalist Queen Heather and I agree with everything you say. I’m very envious of your throne money box. I have mugs, lots of souvenir mugs from various royal weddings and anniversaries. What I’d really like is a throne money box 😂🤣
Thank you for the history - my Dad was in the Met Police and he was on duty that day. I still have some of the information leaflets they gave to the police so they could identify who was who and which way the procession would go.
