There isn't much traffic going through the village these days, compared to when I moved here in the mid 1980's. This is because of a bypass built a few years later meaning that the traffic didn't need to go through our main street.
I was stood in my front garden seeing to the bird feeders, when this sort of traffic passed me by. I grabbed my camera to show you what we get today, along with farm tractors and the odd delivery van. Saying that we do get a double-decker bus now and then.
As you can see this is only a three horse power vehicle with some happy riders on board. I usual get a nice "Hi Heather, how you doing" as they know me quite well. Must admit that other than a ride on a donkey at the seaside when I was young, I have never ridden a horse.
Don't think I would now anyway, as it would need to be a rather hefty cart horse to take my weight and I wouldn't want to break it's back. As a matter of interest we have several riders passing by during the day including youngsters from a riding school.
I do like the way that these riders are prepared to take other horses for walkies, but no poo bags needed, only spades by the villages to pick it up for the roses.
They look happy to see you Heather.....this is the sort of traffic I like...you can’t beat living in places like yours....everyone will look out for you!
