This capture is only yards away from my own property, and when I moved to the village of Middleyard 36 years ago, there was just a low wall around a modern bungalow. It was similar to the wall around the front of my place.
Within a few years the property changed ownership and the new owners built a new fence behind it at almost 6ft tall, meaning nobody could see into their garden where they had also built a new summer house and barbecue.
Move forward again about 15 years and the property changed hands once more and the new owner decided to reduce the fence by quite a bit. They then added the hedge behind it which took some time to mature into the height it is today. So what can be placed there next, who knows the answer.
Now what was the big fib then? Well the sign says there is an Orchard Close, in fact there isn't one anywhere near here. This is an entrance to a small estate of bungalows which is where my big Brother lives as well, all these bungalows were actually built in an old orchard after the trees were removed.
You find the most interesting things to capture! At first, I thought the sign said orchid closet (a place to keep your trees, instead of your clothes???) A fav for this creative capture and narrative ♥
They seem to pick the name of some feature around the new built houses….it sounds nice as an address too. It’s strange how some addresses sound more attractive than others. We aren’t too keen on our new address. We were going to change the name of our bungalow but it’s quite a performance & in the end we couldn’t be bothered.
Love your narrative.
