I promise that there will be no more egg-cruciating yokes today, just keep calm and have a walk along the Stroudwater Canal again.
In my past I had some very stressful positions at work, often going home after a journey abroad. Warn out and wondering if I should continue this work that was taking me to different parts of the world on my own. I must admit it did finally get to me, and I decided to leave and finish my few years working up to retirement, with an easier life.
There is one place that I went when I was suffering, and that was the canal. If I wasn't walking along the towpath I would find a place like this to just sit and enjoy the peace and quiet.
I would talk to the ducks and swans, and at one point I had a robin sat inches away from me chirping away. I'm sure it's these moments that made me decided that life wasn't worth all the long days and nights away. In fact I haven't travelled abroad since my last trip for work to North Carolina and Houston in Texas.
They always say, there’s nothing like home, and a walk along this canal to relieve my troubles and stresses of the world.
May you enjoy many more smiling years!
I once heard the saying - work related - Go big, or go home! And I always wondered how awful some peoples' homes must be. I do believe home is the best option.
Lovely scene and walking place. I persisted and continued my crazy job until retirement. Now I know it was at the expense of my health. But I really liked my job.
Something very soothing in walking along the slow flowing canal Heather , everything moving at a slow pace , plenty of time to think and muse over things -- even to daydream !
