There has been a lot of news recently about the huge price increases expected for gas and electricity next spring. It could mean that I go and visit several of my friends during the day to use their heating whilst mine will be on low.
I have noticed this bird, either a crow or a jackdaw that has been hanging around this chimney pot on a bungalow behind my garage. It seems to have found a warm spot to linger and keep warm. Even if it has flown away for a short time it comes back and snuggles up to the heat outlet.
I have seen some birds disappear down these pots to nests built down the chimneys, but in this case that's not possible so I'm going to see if it stays and also chases other birds off.
Now is this a way for me to keep warm this winter, well I am a Magpie aren’t I. So if you see me walking around these bungalows at night with a ladder and a sleeping bag, you know what I'm up to. No not burgling, but saving on my own gas costs.
It looks like it might be a flat roof, I’d hate for you to roll off a sloping roof. Perhaps a bonfire in your front yard and a tent might be a safer option. Sorry to hear of the price increases.
Ooh Heather - love your thought processes !! ha !! I on the other hand am aware of the threats re the prices going up ,but unlike you I am rather an ostrich and am burying my head in the sand , so to speak and hoping it will not effect me !!!!!!!
A lovely picture btw.
