I love sitting in my comfy armchair watching my bird feeders that are only inches from the window glass. Love the small birds and Woody the Woodpecker I can put up with.
Yet Starlings are the scourge of my life, I can put up with perhaps one or even two at times, but when 12 or more flock in I get very annoyed and have to rush to the window and chase them off.
The problem is they don't seem to care, I can be inches from them with just the pane of glass between us, and they stare at me. I'm sure I've seen them sticking their tongues out at me.
Starlings are quite pretty with their iridescent feathers, but they are very greedy, there is one reason I will give them a plus point, that is they are giving me a lot of exercise jumping up and trying to chase them off.
They are roaming gangs aren’t they….the naughty boys of the neighbourhood. We made the mistake if buying a feeding tray thing for ground feeding birds but my word it was just taken over by these bossy, noisy gangsters!
