OK, not a great photo, but I enjoyed this story. This is the 'kulturhaus', translated as something like ''village community centre' I suppose, at Laukvik, a small hamlet (no shops, just houses, a harbour and a fish drying factory) in the Lofoten islands. It's about 2m (7ft) high, and even smaller in length and width. The story is that Laukvik was promised funds to build a kulturhaus for many years, but they never arrived. In 2007 they ran out of patience, built this, and then invited everybody to the opening ceremony. The politicians didn't come, neither did the King & Queen, but all the journalists and TV broadcasters did. The funds arrived next year, but thankfully they kept this building. Like many small buildings in the Lofoten islands, it is guyed to prevent it being blown away by Atlantic storms.
2 - Isn't that awfully small for a house of culture?
3 - Love the colors in this.
