blooming time

I guess it's a yucca (if I'm wrong, enlightenment is welcome).
The stem is round about a metre high, and the blooming part stands 60 cm or so.
I'm amazed it's blooming, while most of the other plants are dry because of the heat (again 35°C today).
Nicely composed and good close up shot.

@grannysue Thank you so much. I would prefer a plain background, but I didn't have much of a choice.

@lastrami_ Some people take black (or white) poster board and put it behind the plant to take a photo. I bought some but forget to put it in the car when I go somewhere.

agree, nice composition and close up
Another trick to get a plain background, is to bend down and use the sky as your backdrop.
Like the idea of carrying a black poster with, though I might find material easier

@grannysue @ninaganci Many thanks for your good suggestions, they are much appreciated! I like the trick with the poster board (I mostly use black or white foam rubber). It works well for smaller plants. This stem is at least a metre high. A very large poster board would be necessary...
Photographing against the sky was a little difficult, because the plant is surrounded by trees and hedges. I tried it, but didn't get the desired result. I would have to put the cam close to the ground, but preferred to capture the blossom from the side to show her size.
I'll enjoy to follow your advices when I find the next (smaller) flower :)
