Memorial Day is the start of the tourist season on Cape Cod, and we celebrate the beginning of summer with a lobster dinner. We also kick off every summer with a new signature cocktail. This one is made from fresh squeezed lemon, lime and orange juice, rum, basil infused simple syrup and a splash of seltzer. I need to come up with a name for it. My husband suggested "Sublime," but I'd love any suggestions.
Thank you, everyone, for all your comments. I need a name because this is going to be the recipe in my food column next week in the local paper. Anyone who wants to join me, just head as far east as you can go aside from Northern Maine.
Trigger trigger!!! How about the name...triple c, cape cod cocktail!? Ok that's pretty bad but I really wanted to contribute. I love the picture especially because it's on the deck...cant' wait! Does that cocktail come in virgin?
That sounds like a wonderful thing to do today--just kick back (: Hmmm, I'd love to try that without the rum, the basil sounds intriguing. I think Sublime describes it perfectly. Maybe a Limerick? Eh, go with Sublime
Ooo, that looks refreshing and summery! :]
Re: I only had to cook them, not bake them all :p and thank you so much for that comment, it really means a lot xxx
Looks sublime to me! :) Great shot! Love the transparency and textures the light revealed in the lime on top of the front glass. And lobster....yummo! Got a pic of that too??
