My gargoyle finally arrived today! Hurray! This didn't come out like I planned. It was pouring rain all day, and I meant to take a photo of Hugo looking at the dismal weather like so many tourists did today, but I focused on him with the wrong lens. Lesson learned for next time I want to capture the rain.
So far my husband hasn't noticed him sitting on our bookshelf, literally surrounded by floor to ceiling books, but since he does look at my photos on 365, I'm pretty sure the jig will be up tomorrow...Love you, honey!
Mr. Higgins, if you're reading down the page, I agree with Trina! I LOVE him! Especially in this shot! And it looks like you've captured your raindrops via very soft bokeh drops. I think this shot is just perfect!
He's so sad about the rain and worried about your husband's reaction to him. Tell your hubby Hugo is very neat, doesn't eat much, and never takes sides! Love the lighting on his spine!
well...i am digging the background and the bokeh and the blurr...it is very well composed and shot..love to see his face...that back is crazy, huh....he kinda reminds me of my weeping buddha....xoxoxox
So glad you got him .... good for you! It was a great trip you were on when you found him and that alone makes it worth the acquisition. And I"m sure your hubby enjoys ALL your 365 entries ... this one's a keeper, rain and all.
After all the soul searching before you finally brought your (second) love home....this is rather a sad photo! Tell him he already has a friend in England...:-)...who is very happy in his new garden. @robinwarner I too having a buddha but to me he is praying not weeping...Maybe we shoudl have a day when we bring all these guys together! I hope Mr Higgins will learn to love Hugo too! Thanks Laurie for the ongoing story! Has to be a fav to start his new life!
congratulations and what a perfect way to celebrate his joining your household! I'm so glad that you followed thru and made it happen. I love the shot from the back, great focus and bokeh. There's just a lot of character in his back. I'm sure your husband will be just as fond of him as you (and we) are!

I've been a horribly neglectful 365 friend and for that I'm sorry, life has taken some interesting turns lately and I'm finding it impossible to maintain the pace here. I hope you know how much I appreciate you and your pictures.
