Waiting... by lauriehiggins

Waiting...

It was a foggy, drizz;ly day that felt like the calm before the storm...waiting is a certain kind torture...my husband's response was to come home from work and make Dark 'n Stormies.
Whoa...he looks mean! Wishing you all the best tonight and tomorrow. Hope Irene doesn't give you any trouble.

Seems fitting ... the Dark 'n Stormies, that is. I"m not normally a rum drinker but they sound good anyway. Cool pic of the birds. They seem anxious, on watch ... Stay safe and stay in touch, if you can.

@sarasdadandmom @stepheesue, A Dark and Stormy is a cocktail made with ginger beer (a spicy ginger soda) and Myer's Dark Rum. When storms head our way, my family prepares, says a few prayers and then enjoys the break in our routine. A few years ago, we had a freak December storm that took out hundreds of trees including two in our front yard. Our son was 13 at the time, and he looked at me and said, "Are we going to panic, or play board games?" It's now one of our favorite family sayings. The power was out, but we played board games all night by the light of an oil lamp.

Oooo, Dark n Stormy was my favorite drink in Australia. You could buy it in a can premixed with Bundaberg rum and Bundy ginger beer. Yum! Nice photo btw. Very dark and ominous.
