One of the things I love about Cape Cod is the sense of history here. I'm pretty sure this building looks the same today as it did 40 or 50 years ago. It's a seasonal seafood restaurant down at Rock Harbor. I've tried to shoot it before because it is iconic Cape Cod, but there is no way to actually capture it without the powerlines getting in the way.
It's a great Rock Harbor photo anyway, Laurie. It's almost impossible to capture anything with today's power lines everywhere. I have that same problem here, but sometimes you just gotta' take the picture anyway. You are keeping me connected to some of my favorite places, and I love you for it, as always....
That looks like such a neat place! I've tried to find fun ways to capture buildings without power lines, too. So frustrating! Don't they know we're trying to get a good picture here? :) But I think you captured it well!
Yes this looks like a classic Cape Cod shot. I am sure it must be a great place to eat. You did a nice job with this shot. I know that powerlines can be frustrating at times when you are trying to get just the perfect shot
Very cool and classic Cape Cod building. I hate the power lines too.
Sometimes I don't take the pic because of the lines, but I guess there is
nothing we can do about it. I didn't even notice them in your pic.
@karens68 Rock Harbor is one of my go to places when I want to take a photo. It's were all the charter boats in Orleans are docked. You must check it out sometime.
@sarasdadandmom Oh Rick, I would love to meet you! Unfortunately Maryland is quite a hike. I live two hours south of Boston and about five hours north of NYC. If you are ever in New England, please let me know!
I think you've captured the spirit of Cape Cod perfectly. I see this type of architectural style every now and then down here, and I always think Cape Cod when I see it.
Sometimes I don't take the pic because of the lines, but I guess there is
nothing we can do about it. I didn't even notice them in your pic.
