Fence Wars

Today was gloomy, dark and rainy, so photos were a challenge. I processed this in b&w and then left it in color and asked my teenage son which he liked better. He said I should keep the color but desaturate the image to create a more desolate look that captured the day more accurately from a mood stance. I know many more gray days are ahead and that beach grass will soon be brown, so I couldn't bear to take his advice. Any thoughts on this?
Feels very gloomy so I guess your choice worked. I acctuali like the little hints of green.

What do you do to desaturated it? This is real to me!

Great composition, Laurie! Love the focus and that little tree in the back!

I think the spot of green color is a welcome change, especially if you know it's going to be gray in the near future.

Yep, I think he led you in the right direction. It does set a more desolate mood
