I spot so many old houses, sheds etc while I'm out driving/exploring, but most of the time there is nowhere to pull over, so the opportunity is lost.......except today :) I spotted this old shed, then a bit way down the road there was a nice little spot to pull off the road & I then walked back, & had to get through chest height grass & weeds from the side of the road to the fence line....but ya gotta do what ya gotta do for the shot...right?!
It looks as though the shed is no longer in use....unless the gaps in the roof & walls are for airflow purposes...lol. Nonetheless, it is still standing & I thought it made a wonderful shot with the lush greenery in the foreground....unfortunately the sky didn't play nice today, too much cloud cover of the wrong colour....would love to capture this with brooding grey storm clouds, a shame that it's a bit too far to go back when the next storm hits....
It would definitely look great against a dark sky. My father was a shearer many years ago & may of worked in this one. He often was away for months at a time out west.
I can really see this in b&w with angry clouds looming above. As it is, I love the texture and color of the grass in the forground and the barn looks terrific, a real good subject to photograph. As for distance to go back to the barn, you could add your own sky to the image in processing. Just a though 😉😉
I know what you mean about losing photo opportunites when driving. I'm usually the passenger so there's only many 'stops' that my partner is willing to make before I don't even ask anymore ... haha.
Nicely captured by the way.
