Henry Stuart's Great Western Store by leggzy

Henry Stuart's Great Western Store

Hill End - Built around 1872 when the town was booming from the gold rush. The extension off to the right looks like it may have been little miners cottages. I'm sure this would have been a bustling place back in its day :)
I must visit Hill End, it looks a delightful place. Lots of history here.

I can just imagine the townspeople going in and out of this building. A great find and beautifully captured.

By the size of Henry's store, looks like quite a big town in it's heyday back in 1872.

I went to Hill End in 1970 and did a painting of that store - it was wonderful to go back there recently and see that it was still standing and even in better condition than I had remember.
