Baker & Grocer by leggzy

Baker & Grocer

& now a Cafe too - Just one of the few businesses that still operate in Hill End.

Originally two separate buildings, the Salvation Army hall was added in the 1880s, on the site that was originally the Colonial Wine and Dining rooms. The Baker and Grocer section dates back to 1872, when it was the heart of this bustling mining community.
Great information to with this beaut piece of history. Terrific shot.

Just had a look through your images for July. Love them all. Great to see all the old buildings and very different from what I was used to seeing in the UK but I see similar buildings now I'm living in NZ. I find them fascinating.
