This is a photo of my own eye and I took this photo with a reason. Last week I've been diagnosed with cataract in both eyes. I will have to undergo surgery twice to replace the lens in each eye, not something I'm looking forward to although everyone around me is saying it's a short and routine surgery. Luckily it's not affecting my photography too much at the moment. If you look closely you will see the reflection of the camera in the eye.
Wonderful details. My mum had cataract surgery earlier this year and it was a breeze. Less than a day in hospital. If I remember correctly the operations were about 4 weeks apart and very little disruption to her daily life. She wasn't able to drive for a few days but that was all.
Great shot, not so great diagnosis. Even though the surgery might be and probably will be short and a routine job I can imagine that it is not something you're looking forward to. Will the surgery affect your sight? I can imagine that replacing something adjustable by something that is probably more rigid will have an effect. Anyway, take care and best of luck! Is it going to happen soon?
@hjv Thanks Hubregt, Surgery will take place early 2015 on my own request. In NL they must have 6-7 weeks between operations and there is a 7 week wait, so that would interfere with my holiday. It will probably improve my sight as currently there is only 55% left.
@leonbuys83 That seems to be a long time with only 55% left! Or are you kind of used to it? I guess it decreased gradually. I expect that the world will open up for you early in 2015 then.
