Operation Market Garden by leonbuys83

Operation Market Garden

One of the old military trucks taking part in the remembrance of Operation Market Garden. The main goal of this Operation, in which American, British, Polish and possibly more coalition forces took part 70 years ago, was to capture the bridges over the main rivers, making the liberation of the West of The Netherlands possible. This mission however failed miserably, the coalition troops reached Arnhem too late (one bridge too far) the West had to wait until May 5th 1945 for liberation. The South East of The Netherlands however was liberated during this liberation. This year there are some major events commemorating this Operation.
Nice detail. Works best in B&W, doesn't it?
