@jaynspain yes you are completely right about that. Leusden is right next to Amersfoort. From Leusden city centre to Dierenpark Amersfoort is only a 10 minute drive
@jo13 I got the 7D Mark II in November and am very, very happy with it. Quite simply put, I think it's the best crop sensor camera out there at the moment. I ordered it the day it was announced (had been following rumours for 1,5 years before that) and I was lucky enough to get it one week before a planned holiday to South Africa in November. I used it during several safari's and got some great shots. My previous camera (which I now use as a back-up) was a Canon 550D. In comparison the 7D MkII has much better ISO performance ( http://365project.org/leonbuys83/365/2015-01-01 this shot was taken at 1600 ISO) continuous shooting and auto focus. The only issue I had is that the button configuration is different from the 550D so sometimes I'm pushing the wrong buttons, just takes some getting used to. For my preferred fields of photography (wildlife/zoolife and macro) it's a great camera due to the 1,6x crop my 300mm lens acts as a 480. I think that at the moment Canon shooters who want to upgrade and not spent the world have two choices dependent on their field of photography the 6D for landscape and Portrait and the 7D MkII for sports and wildlife.
@leonbuys83 Thanks for your response, I like you had the 550d but simply couldn't wait for the 7DMII and purchased the 7D in sept 2013, I was very much into wildlife then and felt it was the best option, however I have started doing more street shots and find the 7D often struggles in low light conditions, I am now wondering if perhaps I ought to look at the 6D. Did you ever consider the 5DMIII ? I know what you mean about the buttons, I still can't always locate them in a hurry, do you use back focusing, it's very useful for shooting wildlife.
@jo13 I did consider the 5D mkIII, but it's just too expensive for me. Plus I would have to trade in two of my lenses (EF-S doesn't fit on full frame). From what I'm hearing in reviews the 7D rivals the 5D MkIII in high speed and ISO performance. Maybe if one day I win the lottery I will purchase a 5D MIII and a 400mm L lens.
I'm experimenting a bit with back focus and back-button lighting (Took this shot with back-button lighting, spot metering on the vulture then recomposed and focused on the eye) Still lot's to learn
