The Bridge by leonbuys83

The Bridge

This old railway bridge was built between 1881 and 1887 and has been in use until 1972. The supports are wide enough to accommodate two tracks but the second track was never built / needed. In 1995 the bridge became a national heritage site, saving it from being scrapped. From 2004 restoration work was carried out and in 2011 it was officially opened for cyclists and hikers.
