Traveling Through The Pop

I emailed the two leaders of photo club this week before tonights meeting asking if they had any plans. One was going to be teaching the new members about aperture, shutter speed, and ISO the other had no plans so I asked if we could try shooting water balloons bursting. I had tried this on my own awhile back. I brought darts, balloons filled with water, fishing line and a pole. We got a few interesting shots and a lot of missed shots both with the camera and trying to hit the balloon with the dart. It was a lot of fun .
LOVE this! How fun!

now, the balloon. i was going to do this last weekend. i was all set. then i put water in the balloon. the ones i got were the 12 inches size. when it got filled with water, it was a lot smaller than my fist. i knew something was not right. so my question is do i have to blow this balloon to size then put water? if so, how? :-) i'd have thought that it would become bigger when i put in water but i was mistaken. any tips would be helpful. thanks, lady!

Okay first when you mentioned balloon in your post I didn't have a clue what you were talking about. lol senior moment totally forgot about this shot. When I get home I'll look at balloon bag size . I believe this was the bag that held smaller than 12 inch balloons maybe 6 inch, anyway a fist size of water seems just a little small but the balloon will be nowhere near it's full size and no I didn't blow in any air. It's surprising how heavy the balloon will be and how stretched out it will hang when tied. Either a really fast shutter speed or flash which will stop the action in the burst. Then lots and lots of tries unless you're lucky and nail it on the first try.
