Sumburgh Departures

The road at the airport crosses the end of one of the runways so when the planes are using that particular runway the traffic is held up until it is safe to carry on.

@jomo there are 12 scheduled departures and arrivals each day plus any number of oil related charters. (Have known that to be 20 at times) and this is the runway that is used more often than not.

@golder365mjsmith I do remember being delayed a couple of years ago due there being a bull on the runway. A couple of flights were diverted to Kirkwall until the beast was captured.
