Fort Charlotte by lifeat60degrees

Fort Charlotte

A cannon looking east to the harbour from Fort Charlotte. There has been a Fort on this site since 1665 to protect the town from the Dutch. It didn't and the pesky Dutch burned the fort and much of the town in 1673.  It was then rebuilt in 1782 when it was rebuilt and named after the wife of King George III
Interesting information, those castle walls look really thick.
