Lerwick Tolbooth

The Tolbooth dates back to 1767 although there was one there about a hundred years before that. Having said that it dates back 250 years when I came to Shetland in 1980 there was no clocktower as the original was removed in 1927. A project of renovation took place and the new clocktower appeared in 2004.

It's now the local HQ of the RNLI.
The building really stands out against the surrounding dark ones. Good shot.
