The Malaviya Seven has been detained in Aberdeen Harbour since June last year due to the non-payment of crew's wages. A court order in September allowed for the ship to be sold at auction to cover the debt but unfortunately it only received a bid of £300,000 while the reserve price was £600,000. Still hoping that it will be sold for the reserve price and most of the crew finally got home to India in September for the first time in over a year. Here's hoping the crew do get their wages.
I think the crew will be lucky to get paid as so many ships are just going for scrap these days because they are old and cost to much to run she is about 24 yrs old now. But reading an update on her in the last 24hrs some one has put in a new bid so hopefully the crew will get the pay.
Nice shot.
