Bearded Seal by lifeat60degrees

Bearded Seal

A late trip to Lerwick to pick to daughter from seeing her friends ended with an unexpected bonus.

The Bearded Seal that has been hanging around the small boat harbour has, until now, eluded me but there he was sitting peacefully enjoying the calm night and not bothered by the few people around watching him. A couple of taxi drivers were trying to get him to take some fish.

A few theories doing the rounds about whether he's unwell but certainly off his normal Arctic patch. Also may be hiding from the numerous Orca's that are in the area.

Not the type of thing most of us see everyday - wonderful expression.
