For sheep in Fair Isle to get to market in Lerwick they have to come on the appropriately named Good Shepherd. That journey to Grutness at the south end of Shetland takes just over 2 hours. They only transport them in batches of 150 in calm weather so no more trips this week. It was a very efficient operation and the sheep didn’t seem at all distressed and were looking better than I would have after that trip.
