Hardangerbrua

The bridge over the Hardanger Fjord is another new section of the Bergen to Oslo Road since we were last here. It is an impressive construction as from the north you travel through a 7.5 km tunnel with roundabout and exit straight onto the bridge. At the south end you enter another tunnel this time much shorter at 1.2 km. Previously there was a ferry to take you across the fjord and we noticed on the drive today there was no busy spurts of traffic to deal with on the road that used to occur after the ferry arrived. In total today we must have been through nearly 30 km on tunnels and I await my road toll charge with interest.
The Norwegians are so good at improving their roads with bridges and tunnels. We hope to do a road trip there one of these days. This is stunning!
