At the winter solstice in these parts the sun only manages to be 6° above the horizon at its highest point. At least it is shining today and at mid-day the result of the low sun gives a lot of long shadows over the village.

The low sun frustrates the dog as it is too low for the it to be shining on the floors in the house where she would normally lie down.
A neat image. By the fire for the dog for now I imagine.
