This Meadow Pipit was looking very pleased with itself when it landed on the fence post near where I was walking. However it dropped the mouthful and just watched as it landed in the long grass. I can only think the grass was too long to retrieve breakfast or perhaps there was a young Pipit at the foot of the post?
