Turbines

The 100+ turbines that are being erected in wild Shetland are nearly complete. This small portion of them is visible in Aith - there are many more but the lens is not wide enough. Not yet connected to the National Grid but not long now. Then most of the electricity will be exported. We are looking for s Shetland tariff in compensation of the loss of the unspoilt wildness of the land but I doubt it.
I agree you should benefit from either electricity or compensation. Some like these wind turbines but I’m not a fan sadly.

I hope you get a reduced tariff

It's hard to believe that you won't get some benefit from having to look at them. Eventually you'll stop seeing them -- hopefully.

We have a lot in Illinois, so much of the time they aren’t running. People I’ve asked don’t know why either.
You should get some compensation in your electric or tax rates!

Yes, it's such a difficult subject, isn't it? However, I'd have thought that the least the Shetland residents should get is a reduced electricity bill! Lovely image.
