Common Redpoll

My first photo of a Common (or Mealy) Redpoll. They were sitting very nicely on the fence wire enjoying the sunshine and were reasonably tame as I think most Redpolls are. There were around a half dozen of them and they are described as "Rare, but increasing, breeding summer resident and common migrant" in my Shetland birdbook.
What a great photo, trying to work out what the background is as it works so well here. fav
