This is a 90 year old double deck swinging truss bridge, with cars on the top deck and trains on the bottom. The swinging truss opens so river traffic can pass through--and boats have the right of way over trains and cars. If you have an appointment on the other other side of the river, you better add 15 minutes to your trip because traffic on the bridge will always be stopped when you are in a hurry!
Maybe it's more of a troubling bridge over water with the way it ties up traffic! But you made the best of it with this shot. How did you do it though?! The traffic is heading the other way and it looks like you're in the lane which goes in the opposite direction!
Wonderful pov, light and shadow, fav. I grew up near the Welland Canal in St. Catharines, Ontario, and our family Sunday afternoon drives were often interrupted by the bridge's being up.
