Today I participated in a bike tour of gardens and a grocery in a local urban area. It was interesting to see how vacant lots are being used for agriculture. We stopped at one place that called itself Fruit Loop Acres that supposedly grew fruit although I didn’t see any. We toured around a jungle-like garden that had all kinds of strange things tucked in every corner. This is the gate to enter the property from the street which should be a clue that this place was not going to be ordinary. As for the name, Fruit Loops aptly described the owners.
@marytj I forgot to mention in my narrative that the women that live here called it “Fruit Loop Acres”, thus my comment. I love weird people, but these ladies were waaay out there!
@digitalrn@robinwarner@olivetreeann I thought this was a great idea for a gate, but the property at as a whole was a bit bizarre. The owners were even more so. I love weird people and find them very interesting, but they were so far out there, I left scratching my head.
@bobfoto Despite temperatures and humidity similar to tropical rainforest, it was rather fun and interesting to find small bits of green and growing land among the urban blight. It’s like a ray of sunshine that breaks through a bank of dark clouds.
@missyrosebee I have to give credit to my stepmom for finding this stuff. This was in downtown Indy on the near Eastside near Englewood if that means anything to you.
@lisjam1 - sounds even better, rainforest weather is the best! And little pockets of greenery sounds lovely! Welcome to my world where its green like you've never seen and rainforest weather all year!
