Tall Trees by lisabell

Tall Trees

Bill and I grabbed some sub sandwiches and enjoyed a picnic dinner and hike through Fort Harrison. When I was growing up, I lived near Fort Harrison and it was still an army base. As a civilian I didn’t have access to most places on the fort unless I was with an army brat friend. I’m glad that our state had the good sense to preserve the wooded areas of the fort and make them accessible to everyone as a state park. It really is a beautiful place.
Looks lovely!

Very pretty. There is something about the woods that seems (goofy as it sounds) healing. I love the light coming through the trees.

I agree with Tara... places like this are healing, for sure. Nothing calms the soul like a quiet bit of nature. Great picture!

I love this shot, and have been up there, what a great place to walk. I found a place for you and your hubby to visit. It is the Farmers Cafe on Spearsville road just south of Trafalgar and north of Brown County. It is a great place for an hour beautiful drive and have lunch. They have antiques, tons of flowers and herbs and plants. You will love it. If you can't find it on the web, I have the GPS coordinance

That's wonderful! I love the fact that they have kept it as well. We need places like this to visit.

@sarasdadandmom Thanks for the information. I’ll have to see if I can find it. I’m starting to actually see the positive side of not having the kids around, too. ;)

@roth Although they do look white, they are not birch trees. Unless it’s a readily identifiable tree, I’m kind of clueless!

@tbray @digitalrn @bobfoto @erikadee @paulaag @buccigrossi @mrssmith Thank you! It’s so nice here because most people stay on the paved paths, so it is peaceful for those of use who like to meander. There’s a couple of ponds and big creek in the park, too, which makes for good wildlife watching.

@lisjam1 Let me know I have the GPS coordinates. You go south on 135
Pass Indian Creek School in Trafalgar and turn left on Spearsville Rd. Follow it for about 8 miles and it is on the left. You will love it. Opens at 11 for lunch and you will be there for a while , there is so much to see.

I'm always drawn to photos with a pathway. I think because I want to find out what lies ahead. Nicely captured.
