My stepmom knitted stockings for my kids several years ago. She let each of them pick what they wanted on theirs. Katy was in her “pink” phase at the time and chose a pink one with a traditional reindeer. Andrew asked if his could have an owl. Who asks for an owl on their Christmas stocking?! Only Andrew. He grew up addicted to Animal Planet and books on nature and went to wild animal camp as well. Ask him anything about an animal, and he probably knows the answer. Anyway, somehow my stepmom managed to find an owl pattern, and Andrew got his stocking. It’s hung next to our small “bird tree” where we hang bird themed ornaments that we have collected.
Love these one of a kind, totally original stockings! Has Andrew ever pointed out that Katy's stocking seems slightly larger? Just sayin'... :) Your bird tree is so gorgeous and unique too. Wonderful peek at your holiday traditions!
@peggysirk@sarasdadandmom Ssh, Andrew hasn’t notice yet! Actually, they started out the same size, but the fabric lining in Katy’s stretched allowing the stocking to “grow” Perhaps it was caused by Santa’s desperate attempt so stuff that “big juicy orange” the kids always expect in with all of the other goodies.
AN OWL STOCKING! I love it! My stocking is very similar to these but has Frosty and my name on it. It is red. I treasure my stocking so much and can't wait to see what's in it! Your bird tree is beautiful!! I love it.
